Irondequoit Police blanketed the neighborhood around Point Pleasant Road New Year’s Day after a woman reported that someone broke into her home and cut her throat.
Police say the victim was taken to the hospital and have not commented on the extent of her injuries. Investigators interviewed neighbors and stressed that the area was safe.
An Irondequoit woman was also taken to the hospital after a separate incident on Culver Road near Ransford Avenue. Police say the woman was injured in a robbery at her home and she’s expected to recover from her injuries.
Police say they believe the attack was not random.
