Rochester Police have identified the 13 Rochester Police Officers and one Monroe County Deputy Sheriff who returned fire when suspect Terrell Blake started shooting at them on Wednesday morning.

Blake began shooting at an officer and the deputy as they stood outside their cars at North Goodman and Forester Street. The officers fired back, with both the sheriff’s patrol car and the U-Haul van Blake was driving struck by bullets.

Blake’s van continued around the corner to Frances Street, where it crashed into a fenced yard belonging to his family. The suspect refused to comply with police orders, and was killed in an exchange of gunfire. The officers were mostly veterans with 10 years or more of service. Two officers  up to 18 years. Two officers and the deputy have five years of service or less.

All personnel involved in the shooting have been assigned to administrative duties pending the outcome of an investigation.

All three victims of yesterday’s shooting incidents in Rochester have been identified.

Police say the woman killed by suspect Terell Blake in a house on Post Avenue was 28-year-old Antane Lopez, his ex-girlfriend. The man shot and wounded at that scene is 25-year-old Willie Jakes of Rochester, now recovering at the hospital. The third victim was Blake’s own son, Terell Blake Junior.
