An attempted traffic stop in Rochester led to a chase by State Police that ended with a crash in front of the Federal Building on State Street.

Police say they tried to stop a vehicle on Chestnut Street and East Avenue early this morning, but the driver took off. State Police next spotted the car and gave chase, ending when the car crashed into the side of a Trooper car.

State Police says the driver was Ozelle Vickers, a 52-year-old Rochester man. They say he deliberately rammed the police car, then resisted arrest until subdued. Vickers has been charged with reckless endangerment, unlawful flight, resisting arrest, DWI and a number of other violations.
