Rochester police broke up a number of crowds which turned into fights over the Labor Day weekend, including one Saturday on Weyl Street in which two women were stabbed, and one Saturday night that gathered around a crash between a car and a motorcycle.

Gates and State Police arrested two men for drag racing and had their cars towed after a crowd of some 80 drivers with fast cars convoyed from Charlotte to Elmgrove Road to race near the Tech Park. The drivers dispersed when police descended on them.

On Labor Day evening, trouble broke out in Charlotte when large crowds became unruly. Rochester and Irondequoit police and Monroe County Deputies helped break up multiple fights on the pier at Ontario Beach Park. They blocked Lake Avenue to incoming traffic and directed cars out of the area. No arrests were made.
