The man charged with trying to lure two Penfield children with candy has been offered a plea bargain.
Daniel DeLaus Junior of Webster was in Penfield Court today. He’s charged with stalking and with endangering the welfare of a child. The agreement offered by prosecutors calls for him to spent six months in shock probation if he pleads guilty to the endangering charge. It would also include some jail time.
DeLaus’ attorney said they’ll need some time to think it over. They were ordered to be back in court September 28th. DeLaus left surrounded by members of his family and didn’t comment.
Residents of the Penfield neighborhood who spotted DeLaus driving around say they want him to get help before something happens. They’ve started a Facebook page to keep track of the case.
