The Rochester Museum and Science Center’s Strasenburgh Planetarium is getting a makeover.
Its 50-year-old star projector system is being converted to digital projection, allowing it to present uch more ambitious shows.
The Strasenburgh’s Steve Fentness says it can simulate a trip to planets of another star system, another galaxy, or into the microscopic world…literally anything you can imagine.
The digital projection will be in by December. Other renovation projects are already completed or underway. A $500,000 state grant plus numerous private donations are funding the work.
