White supremacist fliers dropped on two occasions on Pittsford driveways set off the opposite reaction among 200 people who marched through the village Sunday, carrying signs proclaiming diversity.
The fliers urged people to visit a white supremacist website. Upset residents created PittsFORWARD, a group committed to working for diversity and racial understanding in Pittsford. They put up a Facebook page and organized Sunday’s demonstration.
Town Supervisor Bill Smith, who walked in the march through the Sunday afternoon rain, says hate and racism go against the values of the Pittsford community.
