A Pittsford man who repeatedly beat another man with a baseball bat late Tuesday night has been charged with first degree assault.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says 67-year-old James Peppers of South Street got into a domestic disturbance at his residence. He and another man began trading punches when the argument turned physical, and Peppers then allegedly struck the victim over the head with the bat, then continued to beat him after the victim fell to the ground. Deputies said the victim’s injuries are life-threatening and he’s being treated at Strong Memorial Hospital.
Peppers was arrested after being treated at Strong as well, and arraigned in Pittsford Court. He’s being held on $15,000 bail.
