A Pittsford businessman was killed over the weekend in an accident while celebrating his 65th birthday in Costa Rica.
John Anderson was having dinner in a restaurant at which patrons arrive by zip line and leave by rappelling out. He was rappelling when something went wrong. He fell about 100 feet and was killed. Costa Rican authorities are investigating.
Anderson was a well-known Rochester businessman, a former CEO of Wilmorite Corporation and was currently a partner in RYCO Management of Bushnell’s Basin. Raised in New York City, he went to SUNY Brockport and got an MBA from the Simon School at the University of Rochester, then went on to success in Rochester.
