A Monroe County grand jury has indicted the Rochester pit bull owner who set his dog on his girlfriend during a domestic fight with first and second degree assault.
James Jamie Cruz is charged with intentionally letting the dog out of its cage when the woman tried to leave their home on Rockview Terrace back in November. Police arrived to find the woman being mauled by the dog, and they had to shoot and kill it to get the animal off her.
Cruz was hit by a stray bullet when the dog was shot. The woman has undergone 10 surgeries since the attack.
