The pilot in yesterday’s helicopter crash in Orleans County, remains hospitalized in guarded condition on Wednesday.
The Orleans County sheriff’s office says Alan Heard crashed his homemade helicopter yesterday afternoon near Gaines Valley Airport on Route 237, north of route 104.
Heard was the only one on board. He suffered burns to his back and was taken to Strong Hospital for treatment.
The FAA is investigating the cause of the crash.
