New York State’s chief of economic development says “you’re playing long ball” when you’re talking about the state’s investment in Photonics.
Howard Zemsky of the Empire State Development Corporation testified today before a joint legislative budget committee in Albany. State Senator Rich Funke of Rochester asked about the future of Rochester’s Photonics Center after the indictment of its former chief, Alain Kaloyeros, last year.
Zemsky said the photonics development will mature and pay off in the long run. He also slammed State Comptroller Thomas Dinapoli’s audits of economic development programs as “negative” and inaccurate.
