The Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office has ruled that a Perinton couple died in February of drowning in an apparent murder-suicide.
Robert and Mary Ross, who were both in their 70s, were recovered in their SUV from the Genesee River on February 15th. They had apparently driven down the Charlotte harbor boat ramp and into the water.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says Robert Ross was driving and Mary Ross was in the passenger seat. There were no signs of a struggle or distress before the vehicle entered the water.
Sheriff Todd Baxter says the department is disheartened by the entire tragedy and hopes this information brings at least some closure for the Ross family.
