Governor Andrew Cuomo announced the first ten winners of the SUNY scholarship lottery associated with COVID-19 vaccinations. The state offered a chance to win free full-ride scholarships to SUNY schools for people between 12 and 17 who got vaccinated.
Half of the first ten winners were downstate, but they also included a student from Penfield and a student from Victor. Both will get full scholarship, room and board to the SUNY college of their choice.
Cuomo also announced that New York has the lowest COVID rating now of any state in the nation.
