New York State Police have charged a Penfield man with running a large-scale marijuana growing operation out of his home.
They arrested 28-year-old Evangelo Tavelaris (tav A LAR is) this morning after a search warrant served on his Clark Road home last fall turned up thousands of dollars worth of growing equipment, more than 100 marijuana plants, dried marijuana, and concentrated cannabis oils and candies. A number of those items had been packaged for sale.
Troopers also found mushrooms, morphine and crack cocaine, plus cash and firearms.
Tavelaris is now facing four felony and two misdemeanor drug charges.
