Rochester police are investigating a hit-and-run incident on Lake Avenue that has left a pedestrian in critical condition.
Police say it happened shortly after 8:00 Monday night when a man in his 50s tried to cross Lake Avenue near Phelps Avenue on foot. Traffic traveling north on Lake Avenue had a green light, and at least two vehicles struck the man as he tried to cross. One driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police; the other drove off and the driver has not yet been located.
The victim was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with life threatening injuries. Police say the driver who stayed on scene was not impaired.
