A pedestrian was struck and killed early this morning on Atlantic Avenue in Rochester. The driver of the car that hit him has been charged with drunken driving.
Rochester Police say it happened shortly after 2:00 this morning near Atlantic and Coventry Avenues. They say 27-year-old Michael Roderiques of Irondequoit was driving east along Atlantic Avenue when he hit the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released yet.
Roderiques was charged and may be facing additional charges as the investigation continues. Atlantic Avenue was closed off in that area through the night and much of the morning.
