Paychex is  moving into the former Verizon Wireless call center complex on Calkins Road in Henrietta, with a plan that calls for redeveloping five buildings and creating 625 new jobs over the next five years.

Governor Cuomo and Empire State Development head Howard Zemsky say ESD worked hand-in-glove with Paychex to keep the expansion in the Rochester area. Empire State Development is backing the project with $11 million worth of incentives.

Paychex president and CEO Martin Mucci says the state investment is important to the creation and retention of jobs. He says the plan is to add about 125 new hires per year over the five-year state agreement.

Paychex will also retain the facilities it currently owns in the towns of Brighton, Henrietta, Webster, Penfield, plus its company headquarters located in Rochester.

Henrietta Supervisor Jack Moore says some work will be consolidated at the new site.
