The PawSox snap Rochester’s 5-game winning streak with a 7-3 victory.
PAWTUCKET, R.I. — The Pawtucket Red Sox avoided being swept at McCoy Stadium this season by the Rochester Red Wings with a 7-3 victory over the New Yorkers Sunday afternoon.
For the first time in the series, the PawSox scored first with 4 runs in the second inning.
Rochester got on the board in the fourth thanks to Wilin Rosario’s home run.
The Red Wings added another run in the sixth on an infield, RBI single from Ronald Torreyes to make it 4-2.
Rochester scored again in the seventh after Rosario drove in another, this time on a single.
Pawtucket got some insurance in the bottom of the seventh with a pair of runs for a 7-3 advantage.
*NOTES — Despite outhitting the PawSox 11-9, the Red Wings managed just 3 runs in the defeat. Rochester left 10 runners on base to 4 for Pawtucket…Wilin Rosario belted his 16th home run of the season with a solo shot in the 4th inning…The Red Wings next game is Tuesday at Frontier Field at 7:05 pm against Gwinnett.
