A Rochester parolee is back in jail after robbing two people at gunpoint outside the Regal Cinemas in Henrietta.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says a man later identified as 24-year-old Joseph Albert approached the two people about 1:00 Sunday morning, showed a gun and demanded they turn out their pockets. He took a wallet and an iPhone before running into some nearby woods.
Deputies set up a perimeter around the woods and a K9 unit was brought in. The dog tracked the suspect to a fence behind a nearby business, where deputies saw movement and arrested Albert without incident. Albert was found to be wearing an ankle monitoring bracelet and was carrying the cash taken from the victims.
Another dog alerted on a pile of bricks where deputies found the stolen iPhone and a loaded magazine from a handgun.
Albert was charged with robbery and is being held without bail.
