A 27-year-old parolee has been arrested for a double murder off Driving Park Avenue back in September.
Rochester police say a Tactical Unit and State Parole Officers arrested John Gordon for the murders of 35-year-old Jimmy Jones and 23-year-old Sharif Clark. Two other people were wounded in the shooting, one of them seriously.
Gordon is accused of walking up an alley off Driving Park and firing into a group of people who were attending a party inside a building at that location.
Gates Police Chief James VanBrederode, head of the Monroe County Police Chief’s Association, says this is a classic example of the failures of New York’s criminal justice reforms.
