New York State Police arrested a parole violator on Monday after they tried to stop him for a traffic violation on Joseph Avenue.
Troopers say 27-year-old Jose Rivera of Rochester refused to pull over when they tried to stop him on Joseph Avenue and tried to speed away. Less than a minute later he crashed into another car and tried to run, but was chased down and tackled by a trooper. Rivera resisted arrest and fought with the trooper until other troopers arrived and he was taken into custody.
Rivera was found to have more than 100 bags of fentanyl and a bag of cocaine. He was on parole for a weapons charge. Rivera has been charged with multiple counts of drug possession plus resisting arrest. He was also charged with violating parole and taken to jail.
