The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says a parole absconder crashed his car into a police car as he tried to escape from state parole officers late last night in East Rochester.

They say parole officers and the East Rochester Police Department were trying to take 38-year-old Jason Arnold into custody. He fled in his Mercedes Benz, striking an East Rochester patrol car and fleeing up Panorama Trail into Penfield before crashing his car into a ditch at Route 441.

Sheriff’s Deputies found the car, but Arnold had fled on foot. Officers from agencies including State Police and Fairport Police joined in setting up a perimeter around the area and Arnold was taken into custody after a brief foot chase.

Nobody was injured.
