A teenage girl and boy suffered serious injuries early this morning when a car went off Peck Road in Parma and crashed into a tree.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says 15-year-old Christina Dutchak and 17-year-old David Bletsko were trapped in the car when it crashed near Route 259 shortly after midnight. Bletsko was driving when something made him lose control. A witness described seeing the car hit his mailbox and the tree, then going airborne and crashing into his yard. Deputies believe high speed was a factor.
The girl suffered life-threatening injuries, and the driver suffered a severe leg injury. It took firefighters more than an hour to extricate him from the wreck.
Both teens were taken by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital.
