The New York State Department of Transportation has had crews working since late Tuesday to get the Patrick O’Rorke Memorial Drawbridge back into operation.

An electrical malfunction caused the bridge to stick in the “up” position, closing the road to highway traffic. Contractors worked through the night and until early afternoon on the problem, getting the bridge back in service before the afternoon rush hour.
