Following a court ruling earlier this week by a Buffalo judge, the State of New York has ruled that restaurants in so-called COVID “Orange Zones” may resume indoor dining service.

They’ll follow the Yellow Zone restrictions, with no more than four people to a table and 50 percent occupancy. They must stop serving by 10 p.m. and switch to curbside pickup.

The change in policy followed a ruling in a court case brought by restaurants in Buffalo and Rochester. The judge in that case issued a temporary injunction against the state’s policy and scheduled a conference for next week, followed by another hearing on whether he’ll make the injunction permanent.
