Opening statements began today in the trial of four suspects accused in the kidnapping of two University of Rochester students.
Five of the nine suspects accused of luring the UR football players away from campus and holding them prisoner while they were robbed and abused pleaded guilty. The remaining four are being tried together.
That’s five opening statements, one from the prosecution and one each from the four defense attorneys. It’s expected to take the entire day before testimony begins.
