Gates Police say a massage parlor opened in the town and shut down the next day after police arrested the operators for practicing without a license.
The Gates PD arrested Ming Shan Lu, Quiyo Woo and Lianzi Cui, all New York City women in their 50s. Woo was also charged with prostitution.
The department says officers noticed an ad on the adult section of backpage.com, saying the Lilac Spa was having a grand opening on Lyell Avenue. Police sent in undercover investigators because of where the ad was seen and concluded the business was a front.
All three women were released on bail and ordered to return to Gates Town Court at a later date.
