Ontario County Sheriff SUVA West Bloomfield man was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital after being pinned under a farm tractor Thursday morning.

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to Hathorn Farms in Stanley and found an ambulance crew working on 56-year-old Robert Bassett. He’d been working on a silage pile when the tractor fell about 10 or 12 feet backward and ended standing up on its rear wheels with Bassett underneath it. The roll cage around the driver’s seat saved his life.

Bassett was extricated and taken first to Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua, then airlifted to Strong.
