An Ontario County deputy first saved a man from a burning SUV, then ended up arresting him for driving while intoxicated.
It happened early Wednesday on Dryer Road in Victor. The deputy found 32-year-old Michael Slusser of Bloomfield trapped in the wreck of his Chevy Equinox, which was on fire. He put out the fire with his extinguisher and got Slusser out of the car.
Investigation found Slusser had crossed the centerline and crashed into a parked car, shoving that second vehicle into a house. He suffered minor injuries and was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital.
