The Ontario County District Attorney’s Office will review the case of a Rochester man who blew through a stop sign in that county on Monday, causing a fatal crash with another car.
The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office says 32-year-old Michael Nichols failed to stop at County Road 20 and County Road 4. He crashed into the side of another car Driven by 30-year-old Crystal Roche-Mercado. Both cars ended up in the ditch.
Deputies say a passenger in Roche-Mercado’s car, Eliezer Ortiz-Santiago, was dead at the scene. Both drivers went to Strong Memorial Hospital.
