One person is dead during an exchange of gunfire with Rochester police Wednesday night at a Family Dollar store on West Main Street.
Interim Police Chief Cynthia Herriott-Sullivan told reporters police were called for a robbery at the store late Wednesday night. Two officers ended up exchanging fire with a gunman inside the store, who was killed.
Shoppers were in the store at the time the shooting started, but none of them were injured. Neither of the officers was hurt.
