The two men who invented the Organic Light Emitting Diode while working for Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester are being inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame.

 

Ching Wan Tang and Steven Van Slyke joined Kodak’s research team in 1975, and co-discovered the OLED and its related technologies. The devices are in the screens of the latest generation cellphones, and the foldable-screen phones that manufacturers are working on now.
