An Ogden woman has been arraigned in Ogden Town Court on a charge of second degree murder after she drove drunk and caused an accident that killed her husband.
Ogden police say Jennie Clark was behind the wheel early on the morning of July 4th when her car veered off Colby Street and smashed into a pole. The pole was sheered off and the upper section fell through the windshield, instantly killing her husband, Matthew Clark. Jennie Clark was hospitalized. The couple’s three children were in the back of the car and escaped injury.
In addition to the murder charge, Jennie Clark has been charged with reckless endangerment, vehicular manslaughter, endangering the welfare of a child, reckless driving, aggravated DWI with a child, DWI and several traffic infractions. Additional charges may be forthcoming.
Jennie Clark is being held without bail and support services are being made available to the children.
