A Rochester Police Officer and a suspect are both recovering after being wounded in an incident Sunday on Glendale Park.
Police say they were called for a man reportedly breaking windows and possibly on drugs at 108 Glendale Park. Arriving officers were confronted by a 20-year-old man with a knife who attacked them on sight. One officer was stabbed in the face, suffering minor injuries, and was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital.
One of the officers then fired at the suspect, who was hit by a single shot and taken into custody on Dewey Avenue after a brief foot chase. The suspect was taken to Rochester General Hospital, also with non-life threatening injuries.
Police will have more to say about the incident in a news conference Monday afternoon.
