I just watched the Trump thank you speech from Florida. Since announcing his candidacy he has never looked back.

Our betters consider him unsophisticated, racist, and most of all – unqualified. The media, the elites, are offended by his style that connects with the average person, who simply wants to live a life untethered by government involvement and intrusion in every aspect of their life.

In my opinion, the reason for his popularity is problems that exist from race relations, economics, foreign affairs, and most importantly the educational system are denied, ignored, and go unsolved. This, while we as citizens are told not enough money is given to solve the problems.  After 50 or more years of the war on poverty, I now live in the 2nd most impoverished city in America, Detroit being #1.

Every level of government takes in breathtaking amounts of money day after day, yet roads crumble, poverty continues, and the product coming out of the educational system is completely unacceptable.

What is most  offensive is politicians get elected and return years later with great wealth. Yet those elected to serve never seem to solve problems and conduct themselves as being rulers rather than public servants elected to solve problems. The fact is, they are the problem, the public is fed up thus, Trump’s success.

An example of desiring to fail is best portrayed in a story I will save for a different time. Bottom line, an outreach program was established for an educational institution that would have generated ongoing financial support. All the assets to accomplish this were being given as the commercial / media entity saw a unique opportunity to bring entertainment of quality to their audience.  The project was not supported by the various academic departments. The project was never instituted and a leadership position in education finance with community outreach never happened.

Recently, and to my great disappointment, using evolving technology, this very same institution video streamed a presentation of vary narrow appeal with no generation of funding. Meanwhile, this same institution remains in great financial difficulty, and great performances – that would generate audiences willing to pay for access – are denied. These same people think people like Donald Trump and myself as deplorable, the problem.

Since the election, Trump has accomplished more than the last four presidents combined and is in the process of motivating citizens to raise their expectations, put on a suit for business and go to work. And he has not been sworn in yet!

You may not appreciate his style but anyone who takes out the elite of the Republican establishment, crush the Democrats across the nation, while attacking the media that covers him because they get ratings, the life blood of their business, impresses the hell out of me.

In closing, Tony Robbins, the motivational speaker of the 80’s once said, “To be successful, imitate those who are successful.” One of my mentors who financed a two-million dollar project once said, “The only thing that get’s in the road of success are people and their attitudes.”

Another wealthy mentor said, “Don’t be normal. If you go along with what is, you never get what could be.”

If you have read this far, thank you, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and be safe as the promise of the new year approaches.
