New York State Attorney General Letitia James is calling on the U.S. Department of Transportation to investigate widespread airline flight cancellations and delays this summer.
The cancellations have disrupted travel plans for millions of people. Cancellations are up by 33 percent over the summer of 2019. The worse cancellation rates have been at New York City airports.
James sent a letter to the Secretary of Transportation suggesting airlines are knowingly booking flights they don’t have the capacity to actually service. She says they’re receiving numerous complaints from New York airline customers.
