The New York Attorney General’s office is investigating the death of a Rochester 911 dispatcher found shot to death earlier this month on Wetmore Park.
A Rochester police sergeant was a person of interest in her death, but he took his own life at a Henrietta Park later that same day.
The AG will determine whether Janet Jordan was shot to death by Melvin Williams, who then shot himself. The Office of Special Investigations, part of the AG’s office, is legally required to investigate when a police officer is suspected of causing someone’s death. New York State Police will continue with their own investigation.
