Governor Cuomo says New York is sending 16 more Air National Guard personnel, an HC-130 search and rescue aircraft and medical staff to Texas as the response to Hurricane and Tropical Storm Harvey builds.

The governor’s office says the plane will be in Fort Hood, Texas today and a Regional Medical officer with hospital supplies on Thursday.

Three New York Air National Guard helicopters and another HC-130 are already working in the rescue effort to get people out of flooded homes and ferry in supplies.

New York aircraft and boats have rescued 255 people as of yesterday.
