The Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee says compliance with New York’s seat belt law has hit more than 93 percent, which is a new record.
The GTSC says they managed to gain a point from 2015 to 2016, 92-to-93 percent, but they’re still working to convince that last seven percent that it’s important to buckle up. Their latest effort is the “Protect Your Melon” campaign with Xfinity driver Ross Chastain. He’ll race next month at Watkins Glen with the logo and the “Buckle Up NY” Message on his car.
