Governor Andrew Cuomo on Monday gave gyms and health clubs across New York the word that they may reopen as of August 24th…at one-third capacity.

In addition, before reopening they must be inspected by their local health departments to see if their air handling equipment meets standards released by the State Health Department. Everyone inside must wear a mask or face covering at all times.

Governor Cuomo says the health inspections must be done within two weeks of the gyms opening. If the gym had classes and wants to start them up again, that will be up to the local health departments to approve.
