New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman says the Henrietta gun dealers arrested this week for selling weapons that violated the New York SAFE Act “knew exactly what they were doing.”
Kordell Jackson of Henrietta, Joshua Perkins of Irondequoit and Ken Youngren of Alfred have been charged with selling semi-automatic rifles having military-type features after the NY SAFE Act outlawed them in New York. Jackson owned Jackson Guns and Ammo in Henrietta until closing down the business. The other men were his employees.
AG Schneiderman says investigation made it clear Jackson and his employees understood the SAFE Act perfectly well but chose to ignore it. He called the business “a rogue gun store” and an “egregious violation” unlike any other in New York since the law took effect.
Speaking in Buffalo, Schneiderman said New York has stepped up and adopted sensible controls on the type of weapon used by the Orlando Massacre shooter.
