A Rochester Nurse’s Aide has been arrested for allegedly punching a nursing home patient.
The New York Attorney General’s Office says 57-year-old Jerry Clarke is charged with endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person, and with willful violation of health laws. He was arraigned in Gates Town Court.
The AG’s office says Clark worked at the Creekview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center as a Certified Aide, when in February of this year he wrestled with and punched a 64-year-old patient who was both mentally and physically disabled.
Clarke allegedly shouted at the patient and used a racial epithet. He also smelled of alcohol and appeared to be impaired during the incident according to charging documents filed in court.
