A nurse named Sandra Lindsay received the first dose of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine in New York State on Monday morning. Her immunization at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center was watched statewide on the internet, with Governor Andrew Cuomo among the viewers.
Lindsay, an ICU nurse, said she’s feeling well and hopeful. She said the shot felt no different from a flu vaccination.
Governor Cuomo said by ZOOM that Lindsay was making history, and he congratulated her and health care staffs for putting their fear aside to serve others.
