The Henrietta woman accused of failing to provide adequate food, water and shelter for her dogs pleaded not guilty in town court.

Jocelyn Evans was charged with animal cruelty after the dogs collapsed in the Evans’ back yard on a hot day last month while she was at work.

Her attorney, John Parrinello, says the Evans family loved their dogs. He says they had adequate food and water, and the necropsies don’t show clearly what killed them.

Evans will be back in court in October.
