Xiomaria Roman-Negroni

A Rochester Police Officer fired on a suspect Tuesday night on Garson Avenue, after the suspect threatened another woman with a knife.

Police say they were called to 321 Garson Avenue where they found 37-year-old Xiomaria Roman-Negroni chasing another woman with a butcher knife. Officer Erin Kenny saw her corner the other woman on the porch of the house, and ordered her to drop the knife. When her commands were ignored, Officer Kenny fired a shot, which missed the suspect.

The suspect then dropped the knife and was arrested. Nobody was injured.

Police have charged Roman-Negroni with stalking and with menacing. Per RPD policy, Officer Kenny has been assigned to administrative duty while the shooting is reviewed. She’s a two-year veteran of the department.
