In another sign of the rising waters on Lake Ontario, The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office has established a “no wake” zone for boaters within 1,000 feet of shore.
Sheriff Barry Virts says boaters should use idle only within 1,000 feet of shore on the lake and Sodus Bay to avoid wake damage to flooded properties.
Meanwhile, he says restaurants, businesses and marinas are open for business in Sodus Point and around Sodus Bay despite the high water.
