A Clifton Springs resident has been charged with a laundry list of offenses starting with drunken driving after Ontario County deputies found his car in a ditch, and the driver asleep behind the wheel.
Avineri Lopes-Perez was arrested after the deputies found his Toyota in the ditch off Route 20 in Seneca. The car was running and still in drive. Lopes-Perez was unconscious in the driver’s seat.
When they arrested him for DWI, they found he was a citizen of Guatemala who didn’t have a driver’s license. The Tennessee license plates on his car didn’t belong to him, the car wasn’t registered and had no insurance.
Lopes-Perez is now in the Ontario County Jail.
