A statement Wednesday evening from Rochester School Superintendent Lesli Myers-Small says the district will not take part in fall sports programs due to COVID-19.
Myers-Small says given that all instruction is currently by distance learning, it doesn’t make good sense to bring student athletes and coaches on campus for sports. The district is on universal remote learning for the first ten weeks of the school year.
The district says it hopes athletes can take part in a delayed season beginning March 1st.
