Rochester Police say they won’t be filing charges against a 12-year-old girl who accidentally scalded a seven-month-old baby boy while trying to bathe him at her mother’s daycare center.
Eson Morris is still in the hospital and being treated with skin grafts for the severe burns he suffered last month. Police say they’ve confirmed his injuries were an unfortunate accident and the case is closed.
New York State suspended the license of Tiny Hearts Daycare after the incident. Tonica Stephenson, the baby’s great aunt and operator of the former daycare, says the baby was dropped off while she was out of the house and only her daughter was home. The mother and father dispute that version of events.
